Hear from Craig Morris, Managing Attorney for Trademark Educational Outreach at the USPTO. Craig brings his 14 years of experience as head of the Trademark Electronic Application System to this role, and now spearheads the educational activities for trademark fundamentals. Mr Morris has been with the PTO since 1983 in positions of Examining Attorney, Senior Attorney and Managing Attorney.
His program will include:
– How trademarks, patents, copyrights, domain names and business names differ
– How to create a trademark that is unique, federally registerable and legally protectable
– How to conduct a comprehensive search and whether to use an attorney
– How to apply for federal registration online
– What to do if you receive a “cease and desist” letter, and how to avoid “scams”
– What happens after registration, and how to protect your trademark
Note: This event is open to the public, however, there is a nominal attendance fee, which covers: food/beverages/etc; venue costs; and other speaker or event related costs.
